“Houston, We Have A Problem”

I’ve spent countless layover hours at the Houston airport, but have never gotten to explore the 4th largest city in the US, until this past weekend. We walked along the Kemah Pier, did a little shopping, and ate the most amazingly delicious king crab legs!

My husband is a space junkie, so NASA was on our agenda. Truthfully, I think I enjoyed it more then Brett. I learned so much from the documentaries, and can’t wait to watch the first astronauts walk on Mars in 2017.

Of course, a viewing of the Dark Knight Rises was a must! We only thought we were smart arriving 30 minutes before the movie – we ended up on the front row … it was still an awesome show.

I’m looking forward to August – hoping to catch up with some family & friends <3.

A few of my Houston, TX captures:

Under Construction

One of our summertime goals is to build a backyard patio. We’ve been researching, saving & planning this little project for a year. I really love the look of stained concrete, but there’s something earthy about walking on smooth rocks & stones.

… Decisions, Decisions …

… something plan, with a dash of glow …

… imagine these large flat rocks with bright green grass growing between, to separate them …

… craters …

… <3.  …

… raw rocks …

…it was hot & bright, but we left with some ideas (;

…. large pebbles …

… colorful filler …

… of course, we’ll need this – Go Pokes! …

I can’t wait for it to be built! I can picture us grilling out & hosting little backyard events <3.

Enjoy your weekend!

Blue & Yellow.

Of all places, I spotted these at our local grocery store. I was saddened to read on the sign they’ll bloom white … the blue/purple is just a temporary dye.

These orchids made me smile the entire time I was shopping for yummy produce.

I noticed a bonus delight when returning home from the store … bright yellow tulips!

Thank you hubby for keeping our little house surrounded by colorful petals <3.

Shine bright,
Angela

New E-mail.

Happy Friday <3.

Pretty sure “Working for the Weekend” is my motto – what adventures do you have planned for your 2 days off?

I’ll be traveling for work (boo!), but my better half gets to accompany me, so it’s not all bad.

We’re looking forward to trying some new restaurants & beating the heat by viewing The Dark Night Rises.

A Lovely State: PA <3.

I’m a west coast girl at heart, but I must say exploring the beautiful east coast, and everything it has to offer was unforgettable. After wrapping up business around 2 o’clock one day, we spent the remaining daylight cruising around the countryside … with the windows down (;

Below are some pics from our afternoon drive:

… an adorable little barn …

… not edible, but cute ruby berries …

… I kept angling, to get shots of the lake minus the houses. Right before we passed the last bit of homes, Brett said, “make sure to take a picture of the houses, so we can remember how lucky these people are!” – classic! All the neighbors were sitting down on their docks, soaking up the sunshine. Must be wonderful to live in your own little paradise <3.

… I could live here <3. …

We’re really lucky to have experienced Pennsylvania, it’s truly an amazing state!

Travel Delight

This past week Brett & I have literally lived in a rental car or airplane. On a positive note, some of my favorite recent captures have been out an airplane window.

Even through the tiny, scratched windows were dirty – I still wanted to share some skies that made my flying experience heavenly <3.

… crisp sky, with cotton ball clouds …

… hello Chicago! …

… Goodbye Chicago! …
(the sunset was literally dancing on the water)

… I felt like this was God’s way of saying, sit back and enjoy the flight. …

… soaking it all in …

… there was a moment I stopped to look around the plane, and everyone was indulging in this beautiful view … it felt like we were all connected and at peace <3. …

After this weekend, schedules will be slowing down … looking forward to planning a camping adventure.

A few of my favorite things <3.

The above moments are simple, but put a smile on my face. Admiring a beautiful cloudy sky, feeling the fresh wind blowing through my hair or the day my husband surprised me with Jack in the Box.

How inspiring the world is around us … capture the moments that make you happy <3.

Keep smiling,
Angela

PS. I’ll be back to regular posting next week – have a wonderful weekend!

Meet Shady

We named our little camper Shady (short for Shadow)

… lovely campsite on a humid morning …

… I may have slept in, and missed the good light, but this still made me smile …

… sunshine …

… sun sparkles …

… evening walks …

It was an eventful weekend of breaking in Dad & Pam-la’s new 5th wheel, a laundry list of random hiccups occurred … but at the end of the day we enjoyed yummy snacks and great company <3. I’m thankful for A/C, great movies, card games & my dad’s guardian angel!

We’re already planning our next adventure, and cant wait to put some fresh miles on our campers (:

Keep smiling,
Angela

Hope everyone took some extra days off to enjoy a long & lovely weekend <3.
