A Nontraditional Thanksgiving

This year we celebrated with Brett’s family by volunteering at a local women’s shelter in our community.
The volunteers set the tables with pressed table cloths, florid glass dishes and white cloth napkins. The fancy details made the dinner feel extra special <3.

After serving the women and children, we sat down to enjoy the home cooked meal – each dish was delicious …
turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, stuffing, deviled eggs & soft buttered rolls – I indulged in 4 rolls (:

I’m happy my sister-in-law suggested getting out of our comfort zones – it really opened my eyes to the things we all take for granted <3.

I was blown away by this guy’s hard working skills … awesome job Jack!

Handmade pies … <3.

1 John 3:18 – My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth

Acts 20:35 – In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
