Backyard Bliss.

Dad & Pam-la have the best backyard. It’s private, woodsy but still has that neighborly vibe <3. We always squeeze in a little backyard adventure when visiting.

I’m really looking forward to building our deck. It will be nice to have a sitting area for enjoying our little territory (:

Let’s hope these don’t become a deer snack …

Park.

On a previous post, I shared my delight in taking pictures of one of my dearest friends, Rachel and her son. We ventured to a local park one evening, and just walked around taking in the beauty.

… If the above were a painting I’d name it: “Mirror, Mirror” …

… this handsome fellow was such a flirt (;

I made an observation while strolling the park … The park goers were a cross between runners, getting in their exercise & older people feeding the ducks <3. The weather was perfect & it was just lovely – do people still go to the park or is that ancient entertainment? Do tell (:

Bittersweet Moment.

… Dad, Brett and I’s hand prints from the day we helped dad with his shed’s concrete slab …

I’m stunned that my emotions didn’t overcome me, while visiting my childhood home for the last time. I’m normally very emotional over anything sentimental, but as the day unfolded, the more at peace I felt. I thought about the new family who will live there, and how the house will home a family again. I sound silly saying a house has emotions, but since no one has lived there for awhile, it almost felt like the house was lonely … When I walked in the front door, I experienced that slight guilt you feel when you have to leave your dogs all day.

I took some pictures of the backyard – where I spent many hours as a kid. I remember the far left corner was the neighbor girl and I’s secret (imaginary) club house. We’d carry all our snacks out there and talk for hours. Bonfires were always an adventure; we’d check them in the morning to see they were still hot! Catching lighting bugs, 4th of July block parties, and picking wild flowers are just a few of my childhood moments. Trampoline slumber parties were always a must – snuggled in all our blankets while taking in the most amazing view of the stars (no street lights!).

I had such a blessed childhood, and feel so grateful to have lived in such a lovely home for 15 years <3. I hope all future dwellers gained many priceless memories … I know I cherish each of mine!

… I remember the day my dad planted this apple tree …

… I’m going to miss it …

<3.

… dad’s firewood pile …

… fence decor …

…. these trees were like sticks when my dad planted them! …

… shed lock …

… my bedroom window <3.

… close up of the beautiful hydrangea’s under my bedroom window …

… bittersweet moment …
(more sweet than bitter … CHEERS to new beginnings!)

Enjoy your weekend <3.

Broken Bow – Canoe Trip

One morning we set out for a little canoe trip down the Mountain Fork River. Dipping your feet in the cool water was so refreshing when the sun came out from behind the clouds. We spotted turtles, exotic birds and adorable baby ducks (: Pretty sure it was Gimli & Winston’s least favorite activity on the trip – poor babies. However, they did look priceless in their life jackets <3.

… drifting along …

… Mommy Duck …

… baby duckies … how adorable <3.

… rock bottom … beautiful!

… Winston was a little scared – poor baby!

“Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.”

Keep Smiling,
Angela

… lookie at what Brett spotted!

Have an adventurous weekend <3.

Broken Bow – Golf.

To celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary – we journeyed to lovely Broken Bow, OK for a long weekend of camping. We made sure to add golf to our list of activities. I highly recommend Cedar Creek golf course if you ever find yourself visiting Broken Bow! We may have lost some golf balls to the beautiful matured trees, but it was completely worth it (:

… he won (;

… putt putt …

… I loved this little groundskeepers shed, so quaint <3. Plus, I captured ANOTHER bird!

… at least you can easily spot golf balls in the crystal clear water (;

Hope you’re having a superb day!

Broken Bow – This & That.

… sign pictures are in honor of my grandma, she always wanted state, city, town signs in her pictures – wonderful way to remember locations …

… where we camped …

… we took lots of nature walks …

… jungle …

… crisp rock path …

… my walking buddies <3.

Just a sneak peek of our anniversary trip to Broken Bow, OK – more to come next week (:

Special thanks to Brett’s Mom – she lent us her dog leash splitter, it made walking the boys so much easier!

Keep smiling,
Angela

PS. Sorry my post didn’t work on Wednesday … I had it scheduled for the wrong day by mistake! Oops (;

“A squirrel is just a rat with a cuter outfit!” – Sarah Jessica Parker

You can imagine my excitement when I spotted this little bright squirrel. He’s dressed like a little OSU fan (;

… what you really missed, was my dance party, when I got a shot of him looking at the camera.

I named him Carroty.

Nature Moments.

… tiny home in the woods

… a stick farm (inside joke!)

… a bug’s life (:

These were all taken on a really overcast day, but still the perfect weather for a long walk.

We experienced our first thunderstorm in our camper. My favorite soporific sound is rain, so imagine my delight all snuggled in bed with rain drops dancing on our camper roof – truly an unforgettable moment.

 The campsite felt fresh in the morning … everything was clean and literally glowing <3.

Keep smiling,
Angela

Destiny.

It was even more beautiful in person.

Watch your thoughts; they become words …
Watch your words; they become actions …
Watch your actions; they become habits …
Watch your habits; they become character …
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny!

Angela

PS. This is a close 2nd to my favorite sunset <3.
